i love love love to be included
I saw an email from one of those job-finding sites and the subject was “are you at your forever job?” which I guess means to connote a similar feeling to forever homes for foster children or unadoptable pets. For a job to invoke this sentiment is giving manipulation vibes but what do I know?
This past Sunday’s Succession finale has left me gasping for air like a goldfish out of its bowl and now i’m in a period of healing. Much like the process of destroying muscle to rebuild stronger (as I’m told happens after “working out”), I will be crafting my new post-Succ personality from scratch. More annoying than ever. The jury is out on what it will consist of. If I were a protagonist in a sort of Frances Ha or Fleabag way (which I can’t be because I’m a woc of color……), my new thing would be getting drunk and accumulating astronomical levels of debt buying ridiculous items off F*cebook Marketplace.
But alas I’m a femme-vest girl now (I have one [1] budget spreadsheet) so I am above that kind of behavior… well… no, no, I am above it. Anyway, I’m not worried about missing out on the chance to be spending exorbitant amounts of money on fun things. It’s the week before Christmas, and although I am not a Follower (of the Christian faith, although I am a follower of many Christian millennial DIY/thrifted furniture IG accounts), I do love the art of unnecessarily stressing myself out over giving The Perfect Gift. “Why would you do that to yourself when you’re not even obligated to participate in holiday-related stress?” You know I hate feeling left out :)
