Getting a good grade at allyship (something that is achievable and reasonable to want)
Hello audience, how’s it going? It’s been a fresh minute since I’ve seen you and while the very serious horrors of the world keep turning (in ways that would be disrespectful to address in my silly little newsletter) and we are all doing our best to stay afloat, I thought I’d break my self-imposed spring/summer hiatus to inform you guys how I’m committing to making positive contributions to the world around me. The specific theme of today’s listicle is in fact Pride Month 🤩🤩
List: ways I am celebrating/planning to celebrate pride month 2025
Buying from local queer artists and queer-owned small business to put my money where my mouth is.
Supporting queer media because it’s important to show that there is an audience for all kinds of stories.
Donating to organizations that make a difference in the lives of queer youth such as The Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, and the Trevor Project.
Being brutally dumped by the guy I’ve been dating because being with me prompted him to experience his gay awakening and want to “explore” “his” “sexuality” 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wearing rainbow pin in public spaces to let queer people that I am a safe space to talk to about gay awakenings and exploring one’s sexuality.
I hope my small contributions are but drops in the vast ocean of all the ways that each one of us can make a difference. ❤️
Xx

Edit: After a few hours of reflection and study, I’ve decided to no longer be an ally. I will be the opposite of whatever that is. A gay divorce lawyer even.
