fools give you reasons wise men never try
This week began with Jack Dorsey stepping down from CEO of Twitter and will end with me in the rain, on my knees, asking the universe “what now?” I have made the terminal mistake of leaning too far into the art of fortune-telling via The Cards and now my life is being run by a deck of 36 illustrated pieces of semi-glossy cardstock. The most recent reading has foretold some Big Changes in my life and I am coping normally (listening to caroline polachek and thinking about running a bookshop in a small sleepy town).
Award season is sneaking up on us and while many will be ambitious enough to watch all the movies and listen to all the music, I will be outsourcing this to my friends with far greater patience than me. I’m very behind on my own assignments (stuff that I’m watching). My TV roster consists of:
finishing the third season of You
continuing my academic study of The OC
maybe (maybe!) starting Bored to Death
dealing with the pre-emptive depression of Succession ending in two weeks
As you can probably tell, I will be very busy this Holiday season.
